01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Near Shichijo Onmae in Kyoto, Shiga Coffee draws guests in with the aroma of freshly roasted beans, offering a dependable stop for a carefully brewed cup and homemade treats. Arranged with counter seats and a small collection of tables, the shop maintains an unhurried, calm atmosphere well suited to a quiet solo afternoon.
A generous mug of house-roasted coffee paired with rustic homemade pudding is a signature order here. Featuring a firm texture and rich egg flavor, the custard pairs naturally with a bittersweet dark-roast blend or a smooth café latte. The daily sweets lineup also shifts to include items such as Taiwanese castella or Basque cheesecake, giving returning visitors something new to consider.
For lunch or a quick bite, freshly toasted sandwiches are also on hand. Options span savory choices like egg, cheese, and basil or a hearty pizza-toast style, alongside sweet fillings like sweet red bean paste with butter or blueberry and cream cheese. From customers stopping in to pick up roasted beans for home brewing to those sitting down to unwind, the cafe accommodates each visit at an easy, gentle pace.
